Arthur Streit Jr. operator of a truck that struck the Emmons car four miles east of Martinsville Virginia last Saturday was dismissed by the Martinsville magistrate. Settlement Halts Damage Suit On Eve Of Trial
On the Frederick County circuit court docket Judge Philip Williams halted the damage suit by the T. C. Novick Company of Winchester against Capitol Greyhound Lines just before trial. The case claimed 415.17 for a van crash east of Winchester on April 30, 1931. Lawyers for both sides announced a settlement and the suit was dismissed. The record notes the truck overturned after veering onto soft shoulders during a rapid pace, injuring no one. Additional verdicts involved George F. Walter against Jean Bell Suter for 250, with a cross verdict of 70.30 for Suter. Continued on page seven.
