Dr. George E. Barnett 65 a Johns Hopkins statistician and economist was found fatally wounded in his Baltimore apartment with a pistol nearby. A native of Cambridge Maryland he taught at Hopkins since 1901 authored several economics books and was active in major associations.
Franklin Pierce McCall 21, laborer, who confessed kidnapping Jimmy Cash Jr. for 10 000 ran som was placed in a death row cell at the Florida state prison awaiting execution by electric chair. Superintendent L F Chapman said he appeared stunned and calm, not making requests.
