Magruder Details Watergate Planning and Mitchell Role
Jeb Stuart Magruder testified at Senate Watergate hearings that President Nixon had no knowledge of the wiretapping plan. He said Mitchell approved the final $250000 bugging proposal on March 30, 1972, at Key Biscayne, Florida, and that Liddy proposed it earlier. Magruder claimed logs were shown to Mitchell and Strachan saw them, with disagreements over their usefulness.
