Rotary barbecue returns to Senseny Park this evening

Winchester Rotary Club hosts its annual barbecue at 5 o clock in Senseny Park near the Rotary and Exchange Shelters. Hunt and fish licenses go on sale July 15 at the Frederick County clerk and Winchester City Hall offices. The local hospital uses more blood than collected with Bloodmobile visits. 2156 pints used versus 1517 collected in the year ending, with two Bloodmobile days next week from 10 to 3 on Tuesday and Wednesday.

City Budget of $3.478 Million Approved by Council

The City Council approved a $3,478,235 budget for the coming fiscal year ending June 30 1968. No citizens spoke at the public hearing. The budget rises 8.73 percent from the current year with $1,635,745 in expenditures up 11.3 percent. Schools will include a teacher pay raise and a textbook rental system for grades seven through 12. Mayor Battaile praised the plan noting no tax hike.
