Winchester man H B McCormac gains vice presidency of a permanent organization after serving as delegate to Kansas City. Virginia delegation plans to nominate Henry W Anderson for second place.
Winchester delegate H B McCormac was elected vice-president of the convention’s permanent organization in Kansas City. The Virginia Woolen Company official and Virginia Manufacturers’ Association president was surprised by the honor, which was announced via Walter R. Talbot.
Virginia officials at the Republican National Convention emphasize Hoover for president and Anderson for vice president or as a leading anti sectional figure. Delegation chairman Angell denounces Tilson supporters claims as propaganda and notes Virginia pledged to Hoover and to Anderson. Six to eight bandits robbed Home Trust Company in downtown Kansas City. Loot totaled about 24000. Two policemen and a bystander were shot during the escape.
