New York June 13. A study by the National Industrial Conference Board shows U S agriculture paid taxes totaling 3.1 percent of net profits over the past three years. Tax burden on farms averaged nearly three times higher than in the three prewar years.
A study notes agricultural taxes rose from 1913 to 1926 with farm profits lagging. Tax intake grew from 315 million in 1913 to 890 million in 1926 26 while net profits in the last crop year stood at 2.39 billion, similar to 1913. Tax relief few and prices drive gains.
