Mr W B Cornwell announces the Cornwell Lime Marl Company near Winchester on the Northwestern Grade has closed a contract for 145 carloads of lime marl with a Pennsylvania buyer. The 70 carloads will be delivered in August and September and 75 carloads in Spring. Used on limestone land by leading farmers, lime marl is touted as superior for agriculture. The plant capacity has been doubled and shipments may reach 160 carloads this Fall mainly to West Virginia and Maryland.

The funeral for Mrs. Cora Jenkins who died Tuesday at her East Kern Street home was held at the Copuanee Church with Rev. F. M. Cassieman officiating. Burial took place in Mount J Cemetery. Survived by her husband, Grover, three brothers Holmes Lewis and Charles Grover, and two sisters Mrs Besie Anderson and Mrs Mollie Taylor of the county.
Word reached Winchester of the death of Mrs Florence Gibbens aged 80 at her Jacksonville Florida home on June 7. A widow of Charles Mortimer Gibbens she was long active in Virginia politics and a former county official in Winchester. She leaves a daughter Frances Peck and a son Robert Gibbens of Philadelphia, and is grandmother of Aulick Gibbens of the city.
