Mr Carper's Boy Found After River Tragedy
The body of J Ford Carper of Frederick County was recovered near the James River scene at Newport News Virginia after a drowning during a fishing trip with two companions. A US naval submarine aided attempts to rescue. Carper failed to reach a rope and was lost. The two other men narrowly escaped with ropes and were rescued.
