Dr. Harry McCanter presided as the Braddock Street Methodist Episcopal congregation approved buying the Buchanan property on North Braddock Street from heirs of Miss Mary Spottswood Buchanan. The sale would fund a new church site while authorizing trustees to negotiate sale of the old church edifice and adjoining buildings.

Frederick county native Galloway L. Rinker died in Trenton Nebraska from age related illness. He was born in northern Frederick county and long farmed before moving west in 1884. Survived by son Charles in Kansas and four daughters Mollie Waddell Long Beach California Maggie Myrtle and Beulah. A half brother of George W Rinker of Hayfield he left many Frederick county relatives.

Handley Library will close at 730 PM from June 15 to September 1 each day while opening remains 10 AM. The change continues a yearly practice to shorten evening hours during summer. Mrs Ruth Allen returns to Washington tomorrow after visiting her mother Mrs William Peery and attending Handley High School graduation events. Miss Lillian Peery, Allen's sister, was a graduate. Idiss Mary George has returned home near Pittsburg PA after staying with Miss Viola Williams near Stephens City VA and a visit in Washington.

Winchester to keep indoor pool open this summer
The Service Swimming Club announced that the indoor pool at the American Legion building will operate throughout the summer with a planned schedule. Court Reverses Self In Reopened Ritter Case
Hugh Ritter an auto truck driver won a re opening and re hearing in the county magistrate court before Justice Tavernier with Justice Abner Rinker on the bench. Ritter was fined ten dollars and five dollars twenty five cents remitted. He had been charged with speeding on Berryville pike June 4 and injuring four year old Isabelle Shoplin of Clarke County. The child suffered multiple leg fractures and was hospitalized at Memorial Hospital. The court found he did not exceed the speed limit and that the child darted from the roadside. Ritter stopped and assisted the injured child and was discharged with costs remitted.
