Board Approves Budget and Rezoning After Hearings
The Frederick County Board of Supervisors approved the annual budget starting July 1 and two rezoning requests from Residential Limited to Business General. The Planning Commission supported both rezonings amid public hearings, while one request for 203 acres near I-81 was denied for vagueness. A public hearing is set for June 24. The board also approved 92 Shawneeland plots and 125 more, and granted a deed of vacation for a 50 foot right of way on Lewis Drive. They began steps to hire an Executive Secretary with a $23,850 allocation and backed a Chamber of Commerce resolution for a larger Winchester post office facility.
