The Supreme Court will hear arguments next term on the sticker campaign in Virginia's 4th District from the 1966 congressional race. The NAACP Legal Defense Fund filed for plaintiff 8. W. Tucker who sought stickers bearing his name to aid illiterate voters in write-in ballots. Virginia officials said stickers were illegal and ballots with them must be voided. Tucker, an NAACP attorney, faced 7,907 votes to 45,226 for opponent Watkins M. Abbitt amid Negro voter disenchantment.
