Why the currency seal reads Seal of the Treasury of North America
The inscription predates the United States as a nation. A Continental Congress committee in 1778 advised the seal, making the Treasury seal older than the National Government. The steam automobile question notes Henry Alonzo House inventing a steam car in 1866 tested in Bridgeport and nearby towns.
