Pinchot Manager Charges Rand in Pittsburgh Area
A witness in Washington said the Allegheny county election setup was “made to order for fraud” with Pepper and Ware watchers paid to secure votes. He estimated 3,530 Pepper watchers and 14,000 for Ware, paying $10 per watcher and totaling about $490,000. Pinchot had no watchers. Pittsburgh’s DA backed Pepper, making evidence of fraud unlikely. Mrs. Verhas and Miss Lawrenceson have returned home after visiting in Washington.
