Virginia highway row shifts public mood on bond plan
W H Rickard of Natural Bridge testifies before the Senate Post Office Committee on Townsend aid bill criticizing Virginia's highway program. He argues local politics skew road routing and opposes state management, saying the bond idea of 59 million dollars may fail as voters turn against road bonds. He cites maps and alleges favoritism by a highway commissioner and notes current governor candidates oppose the bond.
