Roe found guilty of assault and robbery in Gore case
In Frederick county circuit court Raymond Roe was found guilty of assaulting and robbing his great aunt Mrs. Mary Roe at her Gore home on May 12. He received three years for assault and one year each for related robberies, totaling five years, plus a potential additional trial for a separate Stottler store robbery. Mrs. Roe testified Roe forced entry, struck her, and fled with clothing and canned goods. Roe denied the charges and claimed he was jailed in Winchester on the date.

Robert Jenkins colored initially pleaded not guilty in Circuit Court to rob Sawyer's filling station at Gore. He later pleaded guilty and drew 18 months on the state roads. Co defendant John Jones, also colored, became insane in jail and is committed to the state asylum for colored insane.
