Virginia Democrats Endorse Wilson in Roanoke Convention
In Roanoke Virginia on June 3 the Democratic state convention elected Carter Glass to the Democratic National Committee and Roger A James as central committee chairman both unopposed. Twenty four delegates to the national convention and twelve electors were named with instructions for Woodrow Wilson. The platform endorsed Wilson and his preparedness policy and urged party harmony. A keynote by Judge R T W Duke praised Wilson as the greatest president since Lincoln.

Dr John E Page retired Navy physician and long time personal doctor to Admiral Dewey died in Santa Barbara California of apoplexy. He is survived by a widow formerly Mamie Burling, a brother in California, and four sisters in Alabama and Virginia. His remains to be brought to Berryville for burial.
