Charles Jacob Summers aged 49, longtime cashier at the Union Bank of Winchester, shot himself in a second floor room shortly after 8 this morning. Banks directors found all accounts correct after a board review. Summers had appeared despondent in recent months and was last seen at his desk preparing board minutes before his death.

Eye Specialist Found Slain In His Brooklyn Home
Dr. Geo Edward Deely a 54 year old prominent eye ear nose and throat surgeon was found murdered in his apartment in a four story Brooklyn brick house. He had been stabbed and his skull crushed by a mahogany ball torn from a bedpost with the door locked and no signs of forced entry. Police suspect the attack came from someone he knew and believe he was seated in a rocking chair when slain. Deely had practiced in the Columbia Heights area for 20 years and was a bachelor.
