Police Officer Charged Again With Assault and Battery
A warrant was issued May 30 for Dennis Smedley of the Front Royal Police Department on assault and battery for allegedly striking Cornelius Beckwith while serving papers at a Wirth Street residence. The incident reportedly occurred April 28. Smedley, 24, is on administrative leave with pay as prosecutors continue their investigation and the case is set for June 6 at 9 a.m.
