Olson and Anderson dispute campaign contribution law before War Committee
In Washington on July 31 Paul A. Olson former secretary to Representative Coffee testified that the campaign contribution law would overcrowd jails if enforced and clashed with Justice Department interpretation. He argued the law does not bar individuals from giving from personal funds to contractors, while Senator Ferguson pressed the broader application. Anderson, a Tacoma contractor, claimed the $2,500 check was for services. Olson denied wrongdoing and said Anderson tried to pressure him to withdraw from Tacoma mayoral race. Funeral services for Mrs Mary Ellen Jenkins were scheduled in Louisville for 2 p.m. today. she was married to Rev Carter A Jenkins and survived by two daughters and a son.

David H. Sencindiver, 57, president of the Winchester and Western Railroad, died at 12 15 PM in Winchester Memorial Hospital after weeks of illness. He was born January 19 1889 in White Hall and leaves a widow Virginia Yeakley and children Laareille, David Jr and John, plus a granddaughter and five siblings. Funeral arrangements not yet set.
