Fire near Corona subdivision scorches 3000 acres
More than 150 residents evacuated as a wind driven brush fire burned within feet of a new Corona tract. About 1,500 firefighters battled the out of control blaze as 102 to 104 degree heat and low humidity hampered efforts. No homes burned though a camping trailer and woodpile were damaged. Officials said the fire started from an illegal campfire Thursday.

Emergency Feed Program Approved for 16 Virginia Counties
