Winchester license agent Isea Bell dies at 67
Isea Bell longtime Winchester Chamber of Commerce secretary and motor vehicle license agent died suddenly at his home 108 Sandiey Blvd. He collapsed Wednesday afternoon at his Rouss Avenue office and died from an embolic obstruction at 12:15 p m. Bell born Nashville December 23 1880 moved to Winchester 27 years ago and was known as Winchester’s Santa Claus. He served as secretary treasurer of the Kiwanis club for 25 years and was honored for civic service. Funeral services Sunday at First Baptist Church with burial Monday in Charlottesville.

Washington July 30. An administration proposal to curb meat prices and ration meat uses special certificates issued in money denominations. Strike Disorder At Dayton May Call for Troops
Dayton officials told Governor Thomas J. Herbert that disruptions at the Univis Co. plant subsided with no immediate need for troops. Car Theft Involving Hershey Man And Pelmyra Girl
A 17 year old Pelmyra girl friend of Conrad S Armentrout of Hershey and Alexandria Va learned the car she rode in with him was stolen from Elmer O Daniels Hershey. Winchester police found the car at Heatwale Motor Co garage and notified the owner. The girl was detained awaiting her parents arrival while police broadcast a warrant for Armentrout who had allegedly parked the girl with a Winchester woman. Daniels reported the theft Wednesday.
