New SR71 Jet Recon Plane Disclosed by Johnson
President Johnson announced the development of a strategic reconnaissance aircraft able to fly global missions at 15 miles high and speeds three times the speed of sound. The SR71 program, led by Lockheed, involves about 1 billion dollars with first flight tests set for early next year.
