Milburn Lloyd, a 25 year old Berryville mechanic, suffered serious burns while using an acetylene torch near a car gas tank at W D Wisecarver and Son's garage. Fire was smothered by T B Strosnider with a tarpaulin and coveralls. Lloyd's condition reported as fair.

Two Bus Truck Crashes Claim Eleven Lives
Seven Duluth baseball players die and ten are injured when their bus collides head on with a truck near Duluth Minnesota. In Romney West Virginia a passenger bus and a two ton truck collide killing four and wounding three with four aboard the bus at the time. Two Suspected Polio Cases Reported in State
Two suspected polio cases were reported to the State health department today, not added to the 61 cases this year. A seven month old girl from Petersburg and a four year old from Lynchburg are the new cases, with Petersburg possibly marking the first case there since 1945. A second four year old from Danville remains under evaluation.
