Youthful Gang Charged With Petty Robbery
Police rounded up five local boys aged 13 to 17 and charged them with breaking into four local businesses and attempting to enter seven more. The arrests followed a ten day spree of petty robberies. the youths admitted the crimes. Tire Replacing Plan Outlined By Ford Firm
Ford Motor Company says it has submitted a tire replacement plan for government approval using a rubber substitute to keep war workers’ cars on the road. Charles E. Sorensen, Ford VP, notes the plan would cover essential retreading and tire replacement for autos, buses, and trucks needed to transport Ford’s 200,000 workers and could be offered to the U S war industry if approved. Two pounds of the substitute will allow retreading to a tenth inch skid thickness.

Germans Claim Rostov Capture Linked to Caucasus Oil Route
