A 13 year old Frederick County youth, Jackie Hubert Orndorff, died after he fell beneath a hay baler while riding a tractor on State Route 628 near Marlboro. The incident occurred about 2 10 p m with no charges against the tractor operator. The boy’s funeral arrangements were set for Gravel Springs Lutheran Church.
A Senate House conference committee agreed to exempt current and former servicemen from compulsory reserve training while requiring it for future draftees and enlisted men.
