Joseph Lee Bageant Jr 21 faced May grand jury indictments for unlawful possession and sale of marijuana but was acquitted in Corporation Court. Escape Scandal In Charles Town
Four people including Jailer John Brown were arrested in Charles Town West Virginia over an escape from Jefferson County Jail. The group also includes prisoner William Leftwich Jr his wife Esther and Brown s daughter Mary McDonough Brown was discharged and a new jailer named. Leftwich is charged with escape and aiding the escape Mrs Leftwich and Mrs McDonough face aiding escape charges with bonds set at five thousand and one thousand dollars respectively. A preliminary hearing is scheduled pending counsel advice.

Two Winchester men charged in abduction and assault
Richard Lee Nicholson Jr and Julian F Boyer both 20 are charged with abducting a girl under 16 visiting Berryville. They allegedly forced her into a car at midnight, took her to Clarke County then Frederick County where she was released on Senseny Road and walked to a nearby home. Front Royal Soldier Killed in Vietnam
