Winchester officer promoted to captain in reserve corps
First Lieutenant Edward C. Goss of Winchester is promoted to captain of infantry and assigned to the 317th Infantry at Eightieth Division headquarters. Goss, who served in World War I with the Thirtieth and Eighth divisions, fought at Ypres Lys and Somme and was twice wounded on September 3, 1918. He is manager of the Winchester Gas Company. Also promoted are First Lieutenants John R. Reilly and James A.
