Charlottesville Inspection Office Planned
The Agriculture Department will establish a meat and poultry inspection office in Charlottesville Virginia Rep J Kenneth Robinson announced the site will monitor intrastate programs in Virginia and West Virginia and supervise federal inspection in packing plants. It will be one of 34 new offices to move supervision closer to processing and opens next month. Virginia must meet federal poultry standards by August 18. West Virginia intrastate plants are federally inspected and both states have USDA certified meat programs. The Gainesboro HDC will meet for the fire hall Tuesday at 10 am Ruth Orth will show club trip slides and a covered dish lunch will follow.
