Louis R. Ogden of the Baltimore News and American died after a highway collision near Kernstown three miles south of Winchester. William Schleb, also of the same department, was badly hurt while two young women passengers escaped serious injury. Ogden, 82, a Baltimore newspaper circulation veteran, sustained a fractured skull and multiple injuries and died en route to Winchester Memorial Hospital.

Accident Fatality Near New Market Ends Day Outing
A deadly crash on the Valley Pike south of Kernstown killed Mr. Ogden and injured others after a five passenger car veered off the road and struck a fence and pole. The vehicle, owned by the American and News, carried Maryland and District of Columbia licenses. Traffic and onlookers gathered as authorities examined the wreck at Braddock Street and Baltimore newspaper men reported the scene.

Four Smith Lockhart firm members sentenced in Baltimore
Four convicts from the bankrupt Smith Lockhart and Company were sentenced in Criminal Court. Allen B.
