Clarke County social notes and regional events
Monday rain delayed finals in the Gilpin Plate golf tournament at Millwood Country Club with William West Jr. and Kenneth Carr as finalists. Mrs Harry Stimpson won the Gilpin Plate for the second year. Wendy True won the True Trophy. A large picnic crowd attended, fireworks delighted all, and several Clarke County residents prepared for travels to Europe and domestic trips, with many hosted visitors and racing and show events noted.
