McNemar Urges Effort to Keep War Away from Homes
Commander L. C. McNemar of the United States Navy spoke at the joint session of the 32nd encampment of the Department of Virginia United Spanish War Veterans and the Auxiliary. He said fights should occur elsewhere, not in Winchester or major cities, and praised the veterans present. Three Injuries From Mishaps On Nearby Highways
Two automobile crashes yesterday sent three people to the local hospital for treatment. Mrs. Morris Stieglitz of Washington suffered a slight concussion and cuts but is stated in satisfactory condition. her husband, an employee of Novick Transfer Company, said she will be confined for several days. The Stieglitz accident occurred when their car crashed into a vehicle parked on the wrong side of the road in Steph ens City early Sunday morning. James D. James, 21, of Bellevue Pa., and Miss Irma Williams, 58, of Pesos West Virginia, sustained cuts and bruises in a three vehicle collision at the Berry’s Ferry Bridge end of the Shenandoah River on U S Route 50 yesterday morning. Both were treated and released. The Williams car was followed by a sedan driven by Harold F. Dean, 41, of Mendota Tl, which crashed into the Williams vehicle.
