Auto Bureau To Handle Over Eight Million Dollars
The state motor vehicle department will manage about 8.25 million dollars this year, per Commissioner James M. Hayes Jr. Of this, 4.25 million arises from motor vehicle fees and 4 million from a 3 cent per gallon gasoline tax. License income for 1925 through June 30 totals 3,813,316.72, up from 3,716,097.71 in all of 1924, driven by higher tag fees and more vehicles. Gasoline tax collections are also expected to rise significantly.
