Moonlighting Americans Hold Two Jobs Across The Nation
A Bureau of Labor Statistics special report shows nearly 4 million people work a second job, many married men and some 900,000 women. The typical moonlighter is aged 25 to 34, white, in professional fields, with nurses also common in secondary employment. Reasons include family needs and desire for vacations or wardrobe upgrades, while some enjoy work or seek experience. The American Council of Life Insurance warns extra duties bring stress and reduce time with children, though balance is possible. Dr Grimes of the Shawnee Kennel Club gave $500 to the SPCA for education. Miss Charlotte DeHart accepts the SPCA vice president role.
