Entomologist W. B. Hough of the Winchester Research Laboratory urges the final apple spray beginning July 10 and finishing by July 16 to prevent late summer side worm damage. Do not spray after July 19 and avoid arsenate on varieties picked in July or August.
George R Evans, a prominent Clarke County resident, was fatally gored by a bull while cutting thistles on a neighboring farm. He made it home after the attack, but a punctured lung led to pneumonia and his death at 8 45 Thursday evening. He leaves a widow Nellie Wyndham Evans two daughters and a son. Burial was at Berryville Green Hill Cemetery.
Baron Le Vanvasseur Du Prescourt, a wealthy aviation enthusiast, died when his plane crashed near Villacoublay France. He was accompanied by two others who also perished in the accident reported by the Associated Press.

The Friendship Fire Company three night lawn fete ends tonight at the Friendship engine house on East Cork street.
