Reliance Woman Dies In Route 11 Auto Crash
Mrs. Alberta Irene Steele 52 of Reliance died after her southbound car on Route 11 was rear ended by a truck near Vaucluse. The Chevrolet overturned several times. Steele, thrown from the vehicle, died of multiple injuries. Passengers Ruby Hammack Lucille Headley and Daisy Risker were treated for injuries. State Trooper E B Mitchell investigated. funeral plans pending.

Slaying of Black Dahlia Suspect Surrenders Confession Excerpted
A suspect, Dan Voorhees, 33, held on suspicion of the Elizabeth Short murder, signed a one sentence confession saying I did kill Elizabeth Short. Det.
