Senator Downing of Warren Clarke Page and Rappahannock counties died early yesterday at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore after a lengthy illness of Bright's disease. The funeral will be in Front Royal with a senatorial delegation, including H. F. Byrd, attending. Surviving are a widow and four children, among them Mayor John H. Downing of Harrisonburg.
