Rockefeller Dies at 70 Former VP and Governor
Nelson A Rockefeller died of a heart attack at Rockefeller Center in New York. He collapsed at about 10 15 p m while working on a book and was pronounced dead at Lenox Hill Hospital at 12 20 a m. The former vice president, longtime public figure, left politics in 1976 and had pursued art reproductions and a planned permanent store on 57th Street. He was 70.
