Two Victims Die In Train Collision Near Staunton
John K. Swartz of Dayton and Charles Cline of near Staunton die when a Chesapeake and Ohio express strikes their auto at the Tinkling Spring crossing south of Fishersville. Coroner J E Catlett cannot explain the tragedy. Swartz, 64, a large stockholder in Arthur G Jones Woolen Mills, left a family note and is survived by a widow and four children. Cline, 50, left three children and resided on Spring Hill road. Swartz was an uncle of Marion Weaver. Swartz was to attend his wife’s funeral today.

Drunk in Harrisonburg man fined twice in week
J F Wellen of Harrisonburg Virginia was fined 27 dollars in police court for public drunkenness after being picked up from a bus in an intoxicated state. He had a prior fine days earlier for the same charge and was warned that a future offense would send him to the state roads. He promised not to return.
