Secretary Urges Two East Coast National Parks
Secretary of Interior Hubert Work sent to Congress recommendations for two new National Parks in the Southern Appalachian range. One park would be in the Blue Ridge of Northern Virginia and the other in the Great Smoky mountains spanning North Carolina and Tennessee. The proposal seeks a $15,000 appropriation for surveys, with $5,000 for the Smoky site, and supports hearings on the Temple bill soon.
