The Rev. Charles Henry Crowell aged 80 died at his home near Berkeley Springs Wednesday evening. He was born in Clearfield County Pa and served as presiding elder of Winchester district for four years. He preached at Rockbridge Page Valley Augusta Va Myersville Boneboro Edinburg Frederick Harrisonburg Roanoke Lacy Springs Grea Cacapon Berkeley Springs circuit and retired six to seven years ago. Survived by son Alva Crowell Staunton Va and two daughters by first wife plus a second wife and a son at home. Burial set after services in Staunton Va with funeral in Harrisonburg. He founded Harrisonburg United Brethren Church and organized the first Christian Endeavor Society there. The church grew from 12 members and $600 to a larger membership and property value.
