In Tyler Texas District Judge Otis Dunagan denied a new trial for Billie Sol Estes and sentenced him to eight years for swindling. The case follows a 17 day trial in which Estes was convicted of swindling a Pecos farm man over a $4 500 mortgage and faces several other indictments including antitrust and fraudulent mortgage charges. Estes pledged no comment to reporters.
