Fred Good of this city was docketed for trial in Winchester police court on charges of interfering with an officer in the act of making an arrest and striking an officer during an altercation involving Patrolman Lloyd Williams on East Piccadilly Street. Carl Patton faced a drunkenness charge and was being taken into custody when Good allegedly joined the fracas, striking the officer with a shoe as Kermit Batt assisted. Good fled the scene but was later arrested. Williams sustained no serious injuries.

Death of Former Winchester Resident Marshall Kyle
Friends in Winchester report the death of Marshall W. Kyle a former Winchester resident who died last Wednesday in Philadelphia at about age sixty nine. Survived by widow formerly Miss Margaret Kane two sons and two daughters all in Philadelphia except Edward H. Kyle in Martinsburg. Body returned to Martinsburg for funeral services at the home of his son conducted by Rev. Paul Powles with burial in Green Hill Cemetery. Kyle was a veteran house painter and paper hanger and a talented musician active in Winchester Martinsburg and Sun day school orchestras.

The body of Swedenborg Douglas, 33, who died last Thursday night at his Martinsburg West Virginia home, was brought to Winchester yesterday and interred in Mount Hebron Cemetery. Funeral services were held at the Martinsburg home by Rev S E Rose. Douglas was a native of this Virginia area, son of Mrs Laura Douglas and the late William A Douglas. He had lived in Martinsburg about five years and was a jeweler until ill health forced retirement a year ago. Surviving are his mother and six siblings: Seymour, Gladys, Ethel, Pamela, Alexandria Douglas at home, and Emily Douglas of Hopemont.
