Florida AP report quotes a Cuban fighter denying that U S air cover was planned for an invasion of Cuba. He notes President Kennedy did not authorize any air support and criticizes what he calls news management and last minute orders canceling air cover.
A garbled report notes Kennedy sisters Pat and Eunice Shriver planned a European trip with Pat Lawford and Peter Lawford. Statements from a Shriver spokesman were unclear about whether all three would travel together.
A gathering is planned for tomorrow at the George Washington Hotel with a Dutch-treat breakfast. Chamber president Del Se well notes the event fulfills a request from the Crier and involves several Grace Lutheran Church women delivering cards to Mrs. Lillie Winchester Day.

Time was arrested and charged by sheriff's officers along with John Zelina of Wardensville. Zelina pleaded guilty to the offenses at arraignment before Judge Elliott Marshall yesterday afternoon. Judge Marshall ordered a pre sentence report by the probation officer. They are accused of burglarizing the J and L Trucking Lines office and stealing office equipment valued at about $2000. Tice was represented by T J Harrigan Arlington lawyer who asked to waive a jury trial but the judge insisted a jury should decide. Trial was postponed.
The state argued Rexroad a Moorefield man was guilty of second murder in the Ritter case. Ritter died from loss of blood after being found in his parked car. Rexroad received a five to eighteen year sentence with probation. Supreme Court review challenged trial fairness citing a widow’s courtroom reactions.
West German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and French President Charles de Gaulle seek closer ties after agreeing on a treaty of cooperation. Adenauer faces pressure to mediate the NATO nuclear force rift and De Gaulle's rejection of British EU entry.
Clarke County landowners oppose VEPCO's 500000 volt line through northern Virginia arguing it hurts land values and scenery. State hearings on the route begin February with VEPCO proposing brown towers and a practical route to be in service by 1966.
