In Portsmouth a 42 year old former Navy Yard worker, Leonard Drew, shot and killed his wife Nellie Drew, 35, then wounded himself with a .22 rifle. He followed her to a neighbor’s home and forced a demand for a $2,000 check as he fired into her multiple times before shooting himself. He was taken to King’s Daughters Hospital in serious condition.
