Three Youths Arrested Here for Auto Larceny
Baltimore youths William Lodwick 20 James Decker 16 and Borley Brummitt 22 were arrested by State Trooper J S Fant while pushing a reportedly stolen 1934 Plymouth on Stewart Street. Negro Arraigned in Slaying of Bedford Widow
Leonard Childress a 22 year old Lynchburg Negro was charged with murder in the rifle slaying of Mrs Lola Stennett Ragland as she sat in a rocking chair in her Bedford home. Bedford Sheriff J P Marshall said there have been no talks of violence and the suspect is in Roanoke jail for safety. Deputy D W Shields reported the arrest came Sunday night after a single rifle shot killed the widow and the accused admitted the shooting and said he planned to rob her.
