Burglar Shot Dead by Officer Hollis in Creamery Burglary
Charles F. King, a Winchester shipping clerk and Moose official, was killed during a night burglary at Haldeman's Creamery on South Kent street. Acting Chief C. W. Hollis and Officer Massie fired seven shots, four by Hollis, three by Massie, after King refused to surrender and retreated through the office to the churn area. The coroner ruled the death justifiable.
