Bank Starts Work On New Building At Bank Of England
London report notes demolition of the Bank of England’s 230 year old site has begun to make way for a modern complex. The plan calls for three stories below street level and nine above, totaling about 100 feet in height, with steel frame and stone facing. The wall of the old bank will stay, and the historic governor and directors’ parlor will be rebuilt on the first floor.
