Physician and patient die within minutes in Chicago

In Chicago on Friday a physician, Dr. James Leach age 71, died in the emergency room five minutes after arriving to treat Mrs. August Quiss 83 who had suffered a heart attack. The two deaths occurred within minutes of each other at Belmont Hospital.

Chamber to Host First Breakfast Meeting Wednesday

The Winchester Frederick County Chamber of Commerce announces a 7:15 a.m. breakfast at the George Washington Hotel this Wednesday. Del Sewell, the chamber president, says the sessions will run monthly to discuss goals, services and problems for members and prospective members. Each director will invite two or three members on a Dutch treat basis. Members who wish to attend the Jan 23 breakfast should call the chamber before 5 p.m. Tuesday, with the session adjourned by 8:30 a.m. This marks the first breakfast series sponsored by the chamber to boost member engagement.

Birthday Party Tragedy as Jet Crashes Near Farm Home

In Springfield Illinois a F84 jet crashed into the Todd farm during a surprise 49th birthday party for James Todd. The pilot Maj Robert Gasper 40 of Pekin Illinois is missing and feared killed. A wreckage piece struck the Todd barn roof killing or maiming four cows. No house injuries reported.
