Richmond Virginia January 19 identical measures for reapportionment of General Assembly membership were offered in both houses. Senator E R Puller and Delegate Bernard C Goodwin led as chief patrons. Plans would create separate Senators for Arlington county and Roanoke city and redistribute six House seats to add an extra delegate to Wise Dickenson Russell Buchanan area. A new Roanoke county city district would have one delegate. Senator Moseley plans a separate redistricting bill with fewer changes and likely later in the week. A joint resolution would propose a fiat salary of 100 dollars a month for state employees in the 75 100 tax sal.

Adam Jefferson Mongold age 52 of 218 Sharp Street was killed Saturday night around 10 30 when struck by a taxi at South Reno Street in front of the Creamery. Driver Joseph R. Cather 34 owned by Aulick Gibens was exonerated at inquest. Witnesses said Mongold walked into the path of the northbound taxi. Cather stated he did not see the victim.

George Jones reports five fatal accidents in Winchester since 1939 when Adam Mangold was struck and killed by a taxi Saturday night.
