Vishinsky Says No Hope for Panmunjom Armistice Talk Appeal
Soviet Foreign Minister Andrei Vishinsky told the United Nations there is no hope for a successful conclusion of Korean armistice talks at Panmunjom. The UN committee rejected the Soviet omnibus peace plan calling for an immediate Korea cease fire and withdrawal of foreign troops. Vishinsky attacked U S officials and accused Dean Acheson of opposing atomic control. The committee sent his disarmament proposal to the Disarmament Commission for study.
